SELECT COMFORT
Select Comfort set out to develop a national retail prototype as unique as their air support sleep system. STEIN met their challenge by creating an exciting branded environment in an otherwise ordinary product niche, and doing it in a highly efficient manner which allowed for an aggressive national roll-out program.
The concept focuses on a visual hook, used to stop mall customers in their tracks. Large animate and inanimate objects resting on Select Comfort mattresses create a sense of outrageousness and fantasy. These brightly illuminated, billboard-like “talking walls” encourage customers to lie down and test the unique sleep system. The beds are typically positioned center stage, under a cloud disk and stainless steel star dish chandelier.
Over 100 such stores were completed in the first 18 months of the roll-out program, positioning Select Comfort as one of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies, according to INC. Magazine.
